February 23, 2026 — °®¶¹app’s Haile College of Business hosted the university’s first annual stock pitch competition on Friday, Feb. 20. Fourteen teams from universities in six states met at °®¶¹app to showcase their research, analytical and public speaking skills.

For the competition, each team selected and analyzed a publicly traded company before presenting a pitch to a panel of judges highlighting why their chosen stock is a compelling investment opportunity. The winning team from °®¶¹app earned the top prize for their pitch on Netflix Inc.

ā€œThe stock pitch competition is an exciting challenge and a valuable experience for business students no matter their area of focus,ā€ says Lee Kersting, chair of °®¶¹app’s Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance. ā€œThe presentation format mirrors the real-world work of financial analysts, which allows students to gain first-hand experience in what could very well become their careers after graduation.ā€ 

The Compounding Case team from °®¶¹app won first place with a prize of $2,500, Miami University Team One earned second place with a prize of $1,400 and the team representing °®¶¹app’s Haile Research Lab placed third with a prize of $600.
