Learn More About The Initiative for Health Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The Northern Kentucky Health Innovation Initiative (NKY-HII), funded by an i6 Challenge grant from U.S. Department of Commerce, will create jobs and attract companies and talent in the health innovation sector to the eight-county Northern Kentucky Region. By aligning the regionās top economic development, healthcare, university and startup accelerator assets, the NKY-HII will stimulate and commercialize health innovation.
In September 2020, °®¶¹app and the City of Covington unveiled the Collaborative for Economic Engagement, a one-stop innovation hub for businesses and entrepreneurs to accelerate economic growth in the area.
The Collaborative for Economic Engagement will leverage regional agencies and programs as well as °®¶¹appās expertise in data analytics, health, logistics and entrepreneurial innovation to provide the tools that entrepreneurs need to thrive. Given the financial impacts of the pandemic, the Collaborative for Economic Engagement will play an essential role in helping the local economy move from recovery into growth.
As part of our initiatives to enhance health innovation, we offer two bi-annual funding opportunities for °®¶¹app faculty through the IHI Faculty Fellows program. The Seed Grants provide support for faculty research, scholarship, creative endeavors, or teaching efforts in health, health literacy, healthcare, and the social determinants of health. The Branch Awards provide support for faculty in moving from ādiscussionā of interdisciplinary collaboration to action, which will heighten their professional visibility or the impact of °®¶¹app in the fields of health, health literacy, healthcare, or the social determinants of health.
